Try this: in the "file types to open" pop-up menu, select "ShrinkIt
archives". That should tell it to assume the file is a ShrinkIt archive.

If you use the "all files (*.*)", it starts by assuming that it's a disk
image. The "open disk image" function looks for (among other things)
a .SDK, and is expected to return "hey, this is a file archive" if it
finds a valid ShrinkIt archive that has more than just a single entry
of type "disk". That in turn should inspire it to try to open the file
as a ShrinkIt archive. Sounds like that's not happening. I'll try to
figure out why later tonight or tomorrow.

Re: trouble opening ShrinkIt archives on read-only media. You can
probably circumvent the problem by checking the "read only" checkbox, since
NufxLib won't need a temporary file in that circumstance. CiderPress
*should* be retrying in read-only mode if opening read-write fails
(e.g. you set the read-only flag in file properties in Windows), but it's
possible CiderPress isn't properly handling the error code coming out
of NufxLib when what's failing is creation of a temporary file. I'll check
that one too.

FWIW, "reduced error checking" relaxes some of the CRC tests. Not
generally recommended, but necessary for some archives created with a
broken utility.
