My comment about it looking like composite was implying that
the composite signal is at a lower resolution than the RGB,
which leads me to believe that your device is not sampling
the signal enough before outputting to the VGA display, or
as Michael has implied, is sampling it too many times. That
is a difficult one to determine without actually seeing the
device, or a schematic of the same.
