My guess is that Asimov is tolerated by copyright holders because there is
no financial angle to it... providing a backup for sale (even at cost)
would likely get a few sets of hackles up.

I'm also guessing that, given the way Apple II aficionados like to hoard
files, there's probably no shortage of backup copies out there.
