Re: Apple II / early IIplus production details. Mainboards

Apple's contact newsletter #5 from June, 1979 gives instructions for
adding the color killer mod to rev #0 boards. It states this change was
made starting from serial number 6000.

Mike Willegal

The first Apple II computers obviously shipped with the Rev. 0
motherboard. I read that these were used until serial numbers reached
the 6000s range (--> can anyone confirm this?). There seem to be two
variants of this board though, one with the light green expansion
slots, the other with the later darker green expansion slots (e.g Phils
restoration project had these --> is this correct Phil ?). The boards
were as far as I have seen hand numbered in the top left corner and the
number seems to indicate the serial number of the board.
