The problem is that before any of this becomes usefull I need to get the
server running.
Otherwise loading the driver real fast doesn't help much.

I think the fact that I can't even get the driver going unless I type PR#2
manually
is the early symptom of the problem. Sending three crl-A XX commands doesn't
help.
