The GS monitors actually have several adjustments that can be made if you 
take the back off. In particular, you can adjust the brightness and/or 
contrast (it's been a while...) at a "macro" level.

However I'll make the standard monitor disclaimer here. Exercise extreme 
caution inside monitors - there's some serious voltage around, even when 
they're switched off! You can adjust the above controls while the monitor is 
on, but I suggest buying a set of TV/monitor adjustment plastic 
screwdrivers. They're usually pretty cheap.
