A Dremel with an LCD lets you adjust the optimal rpm's (provided you
memorize them) for working with specific tools and materials.

But its not essential, of course.

As for the tools you will mostly drill, grind and polish. There's an
abundance of tools so you can experiment which ones suit the materials
you work with best.

For cutting nearly everybody uses those disc tools but IMHO they tend
to break and fly in all possible directions - so don't forget to wear
some protective glasses.
