5.1 supports //c and IIgs serial ports as well as a lot of other later

drives, so I would expect it to support the SSC, but I can't say that
I've tried it with one.

I'll take that as an indirect compliment, since I wrote the BIOS and device driver support for the CP/AM 5.x releases. It's a lot more sophisticated in dealing with later A2 hardware than the SoftCard, since all development on the latter had ceased by the time the IIe was released.
