Keep in mind a better dot pitch defeats color dithering in the 640x200
mode. Instead of solid looking colors (the Finder and desktop applications)
you clearly see the alternating vertical colored lines. The 640 mode actually
_relies_ on the AppleColor RGB lesser dot pitch to work correctly.

For color saturation the AppleColor RGB puts the Commodore 1084 to
shame, colors look washed out and faded. It also lacks the extremely
dark tinted tube of the Apple screen, at least those manufactured
between 1986 and 1988 (I found later ones used an inferior tube).
For text clarity and sharpness though it probably lags behind other
screens, and of course the picture size is fairly small when you take
into account the border space.
At the moment I have a total of 3 AppleColor RGB's, an Amiga 1080
and a NEC MultiSync 3D which all work with the IIgs. I'm still on the
fench about the Sony 1302, I don't really need it but it doesn't hurt to
have a spare (assuming I can ever get ahold of a cable; maybe it'd be
easier finding a IIgs->Amiga 1080 cable). :)
