I have seen that Lemmings is available for the IIgs. This was one of
my all-time favorite games on my Amiga and even on my PC. I'm eger to
try it on my IIgs, that will give me something to do with it besides
boot it to GS/OS desktop and go.. "yeah, that is fun."
However, I can't find it. Every link I follow from google or yahoo is
broken. Even links to the company that is supposed to be selling it.
I'm working on having it reclassified as unrestricted freeware as we
speak, so it should be available for download any day now. Just a few
details to work out...
In the meantime, and to reflect that fact, Shareware Solutions II is
now offering it for US$5 (the cost of blank media and shipping) if you
want it on physical disks.
Also, besides that, what is the best way to get information over to a
IIgs from a Windows XP machine?
I personally use DOS formatted floppy disks (1.44MB) but that requires
special hardware. CD-RW's are good for transferring large or many files
from Windows XP to GS/OS, however that requires a SCSI controller
and drive that reads rewriteables (this is only _one_ direction). IOmega
Zip disks are nice for transferring in both directions (been meaning to
set that up now that I have an IDE Zip drive sitting around).
Long ago I used to use a null-modem cable run between the serial
ports of both machines set to 56 Kbits/sec (57600 baud) which works
but dreadfully slow.
