I've had 2 Laser/Central Point UDC's, ran them for years and never had
a problem.  This with 2 5.25's and 2 3.5's in the chain.  I can see
where problems can arise with any drive controllers.  I'll never forget
the day I fried my Superdrive controller 10 years ago.  Thank god I had
two.

3 versions?  I only know of the card that was loaded with DIPs and the
one that had the custom chip on it.  What flavor was the third?
