Apple Universal Disk Controller??? The only UDC I've ever heard of has been Central Point's (and also Laser's) UDC. I've got 3 revisions of those cards.

Are they rare? Sorta... oh, they sold well enough but they're crap - easy to blow up, especially if you configured your drive chain wrong.

Actually, the UDC was a remarkably advanced card, both in function
and in construction in its final rev.  I used one for years and
never had a problem, even though I tested unknown drives on it many
times (though it's not hard to imagine a drive fault that would take
out any controller).
