Actually, the UDC was a remarkably advanced card, both in function and in construction in its final rev. I used one for years and never had a problem, even though I tested unknown drives on it many times (though it's not hard to imagine a drive fault that would take out any controller). -michael Music synthesis for 8-bit Apple II's!
