Cassette Applesoft and DOS 3.2/later?

I'm always the one with the bizarre questions.

Under DOS 3.1, running Cassette Applesoft (even with a normal RUN command) 
leaves DOS active.  However, this is not the case for DOS 3.2 and later. I 
wonder if there is some way to fix this just for kicks. xD;
