Soldering on PC boards is a skill well worth developing, but it
takes at least an hour of practice to learn how to handle the
(small) iron, how much heat to apply, how to use fluxed braid
to remove solder, and how to apply solder.

Google will turn up several soldering tutorials.

It's a lot easier to throw away a trash board than a IIgs board
you were trying to fix!

Once you develop some confidence in your skill, then go for it.
