You know, when modern civilization crashes and burns due to climate 
change / resource depletion / overpopulation (select one or more), some 
of those skills are going to come in pretty handy!

I'd make a terrible farmer, but I've been thinking about taking up 
carpentry or bicycle repair, or maybe learn to play the lute.  They 
should play well at the Post-Cataclysm Job Fair.

I hope there will still be electricity.  If so, there could well be a 
place in that new world for a simple, well understood, repairable 
machine such as our beloved Apple II.
