As usual, no one answered the guy's question.
Cold start while holding Option, then press 1 and enter(return)
to get to the control panel. Cursor up to System Speed, then
press right or left arrow to change speed to NORMAL, which is
compatible with the speed of the IIe without acceleration.
Press enter, then escape enter to leave. Shut down and insert
your disk and restart. Away you go.
