Brad, I think I remember you saying a few months (years?) back that
you didn't want to use a database for your inventory...
But you are now seeing why a database is a much better idea than a
pack of paper. Sorting a database in multiple ways is trivial, and
updates and data entry are also trivial.
And a small laptop makes it _very_ portable for "field work". ;-)
The resulting database file would be under a megabyte in size, while
your .PDF file will be hundreds of megabytes--and it won't be sortable
or searchable. ;-(
