actually...it is the other way around...i HAVE an
extra vulcan controller ( i think it has the gold eprom not sure)
so IF i found a hard drive that works (and/or have
to get a copy of the gold eprom if i need it for 100meg hd's etc)
then
i'd prob have the problem of making (or not i
suppose i could just mount it inside somewhere and use a buggie outside power
supply in and put it where the
power supply was) or maybe make a COPY of the A..E.
Case etc w/power supply inside using pexiglass (shades of 7th grade plastics
class)...or some other hack
prob if i actually found a hd that worked..i'd
simply mount it where the power supply is...use the buggie external power supply
(modified IBM PC power supply for use with // or //gs etc) and then use said
vulcan controller in that manner
anyway...IT IS a hd controller..so i
assume..if i actually found a hd that works and i do have some buggie power
supplies...well...even a less then motivated person like myself could prob get
his act together and simply install it in a ap2 unit around here someplace for
the heck of it
(for those keeping track i'm at item 800 of my
inventory..only around 1200 items to go..groan..for those who want to shell out
the xerox costs of hmmm....8c a page...2000 pages= $160 plus shipping i'll send
you a copy...or course that is just by number not sorted...once done i'll have
to make a set of copies and organize it by device/scsi/ap2 or gs etc some kinda
format like that...now..what i was hoping for was by the time i got thru this
there would be a scanner option (i mean really 320 bucks just so i can find
stuff?..apply it to a fancy printer/scanner) anyway if there was such a way on
the new printers...to load say 100 pages into a hopper and hit >pdf<
button..and viola....it autofeeds scans the docs in question into .pdf files
that would be ideal..but me thinks unless i can break into kinko's late at nite
there is no way a printer and/or scanner or combo there of i could afford to do
that...let me know if i'm wrong i don't think i'll scan them in by hand.....
hoping to be rescured by technology)
anyway...i keep finding interesting things....so
..an eprom here....a manual ..there...you get the drift...if i can find it i
prob can share it ...if i can't find it.well...you pack rats know
how it goes...)
brad
anyway...as far as the vulcan card ...prob never
get to it but was wondering......
