Hello Giovanni,This sounds like the most likely explanation. There is really nothing in slot#0 that the other slots don't have and that could short-circuit anything.
I borrowed an oscilloscope and discovered that there is no clock going to the micro, even if the oscillator is working fine giving about 14MHz. So now I'm downloading schematics to track the problem.
