If you are talking about the built-in text display, or the keyborad, the firmware to control the operation is already provided in ROM.That's exactly what I was thinking. What I need to know is, what subroutines or soft-switches do it and what are there locations?
To output the character in the A register to the current output device (selected with "PR#s" or equivalent), do a JSR $FDED (COUT). To input a character to the A register from the current input device (selected with "IN#s" or equivalent), do a JSR $FD0C (RDKEY). There are a number of input routines that can be used to read CR-terminated lines, with editing capability, etc. Refer to the Monitor documentation for more information. The A2 FAQs contain many references to such data. -michael 8-voice music synthesizer using NadaNet 2.0 networking!
