not sure about the date buy mine says the same teacher 5.0

the student cards are a diff color..and the pinout/punchout on top right
corner the ribbon cable is connected to the one other then the one with a
dip on the teacher card

the theory is...get some student cards (more common) copy eprom ...put cable
in other spot on card...and viola made a student card to teacher card...i
think that is probably all there would be too it..but who knows...

anyway that is the theory...that and the fact i have someplace a guy who has
the disks for it but no teacher card just student cards...and prob could get
it working i think

i got the following msg on the lantech card from the prev owner quoted
below on if siders can work and standard scsi stuff can work looks good...

quote---

Neither of the siders we used at the <blank> were purchased
from LanTech. We had no problem loading
the Lan Tech files on the sider. Since the siders we used were 10 and
20 megs, we didn't need to partition them.

When we transferred the files to the 250 meg drive, we had to partition
it into 32 meg partitions, since that is
the largest Prodos can read.

We made back ups of the Lan Tech master disks, so we never used them any
other time. Once we copied the Lan
Tech files to the sider, we didn't even need to use the back up disks.

If you can't get them loaded on the Siders, you could make a 3.5 or
5.25 Lan Tech start up disk. In the Lan Tech
setup, you tell it what folders are authorized to read. It could then
read the Sider folders ie: "Sider HD/" and "SiderHS2/", (if you had
two Siders connected.)

unquote---

so that clears up the fact this network can be used with siders (at least
some) ....also another reply below on the scsi drives used issue

i also asked about the if mac network it could run on and clarification on
the standard scsi drive issue..ie standard scsi hd's work...

quote----

I just reread you questions> no Lan Tech does not work on the Mac, only
Apple II Prodos. The 250 meg drive was
connected to the IIGSs with an Apple HiSpeed SCSI card. We just copied
the files from the Sider to the
partitions on the 250 meg drive.

unquote-----

so that should clear some stuff up...just need the proper cards..ie
...lantech satellite cards, get or make a term cable, regular cables
(pinouts i assume are in manual) and lantech elan expander card......a
standard satellite card can be made to a central satellite card for the main
computer..and i gather you need at least a satellite card w/prob this
lantech elan expander card to make each station work...along with a set of 2
on the master computer..with that satellite card setup according to the
manual a bit diff...so 2 apple //s talking to one another would require 2
satellite cards (one modified for the master computer as per manual) and 2
elan expander cards ..1 for each computer...that would give you a master
computer and 1 networked station...you then would daisy chain from there 2
more cards 1 satellite card and 1 elan expand on and up to up to 255
stations i think it said in the ebay sellers blurp...

hopefully people looking in their junk stuff can find some of these
cards...or if the next time you see a set pop up on ebay grab them

then of course cables made etc..but that is the basics...i have software
manuals if you find some of this stuff at a school auction or some such ..
you can bug me for the software/mauals etc on how to setup or make the
rest...main thing is a source of these cards...

anyway...thats all i got...now if we were talking digicard here..we'd be
swamped with people with that stuff...i see those cards all the time

anyway...thats kinda where everything sits now....essentially if you can
find a set of these cards at a school auction or some such or around...the 2
types...cables etc can be made to the network specs...i have manual and
software....find a standard scsi hd with scsi controller..and viola you
probably can get the network up

anyway...hopefully this will help someone the next time they trip over a box
of this lantec card hardware w/no software or manual etc...
in at least i have that much of it..i think i have a couple of them sorted
in with may digicard stuff..so people should check there junk stuff may have
these laying around

(of course a person should prob just play with the NadaNET stuff...prob
works as well...and you can bug the author when you get stuck)
