That's unlikely.  Very few publishers will deliberately reduce their
potential market share.  Look at all the games on the PC that are painful
to play because the designers wrote clumsy interfaces and save-game logic
that work well on an XBox or Playstation.

It's possible they determined that it didn't work on the IIgs, couldn't
figure out how to fix it, and decided to ship with a warning instead.
If they weren't tied into the Apple developer program -- which wasn't
free -- they might not have had the info they needed.
