The 30-day limitation is explained on the Download page, in the readme
file, during the installation process, and everywhere else I could think
of to put it. I tried not to take anybody by surprise. The 30-day
timer resets every time an X.Y version is released (but not X.Y.Z), so
if past versions didn't have what somebody wanted, they could evaluate
a later version. The program ships without any other restrictions or
limitations, and no "nag" screens, so for 30 days, what you see is what
you get. This is the "nicest" way I could think of to distribute a
shareware program, short of giving the program away. I'm sorry if you
had a bad experience with it.
CiderPress is itself based on NuLib2, which I have always distributed as
GPL-license open-source freeware. It's a command-line tool with the
ability to unpack ShrinkIt archives, including the ability to convert
ShrinkIt disk archives to and from .PO disk images. (It also includes a
utility called "imgconv" that converts to and from .2MG.) Windows
binaries can be downloaded from http://www.nulib.com/.
