Same as any other emulator, in DSK image format, usually in main RAM (ones 
that get used) and backed up additional "floppy" disk images on the memory 
stick / card.

I use ApPalm ][ on my Sony CLIE, and you'd be surprised how many disk images 
will fit in it's 16 meg main RAM.
