Re: System Error $0040 when copying large amount of files

Hello Everybody,

I recently purchased a v1.2 CFFA card (love it!) and am now in the
process of copying my files from my old 100MB SCSI drive to it.

I initially thought I would simply drag and drop all of the folders
from one of my old partitions to one of my new CFFA drives.

But when I try to do this, I invariably get the following error:

System Error ($0040) Invalid pathname syntax.

However, if I patiently drag and drop a couple folders at a time
(depending upon their size) everything will copy okay. Needless to say,
I don't have any invalid filenames that I am aware of.

Sometimes instead of getting System Error $0040 the system will lock up
and the cursor will have a sort of rainbow palette.

After reports of difficulty from myself and several other users, Rich Dreher found a bug in the v1.3 CPLD chip. Not sure if this would have been a factor for v1.2, but you may want to contact Rich. He is extremely helpful and provides wonderful support for the CFFA.
