Well, my point is this: all models of the Apple II series beyond the
original Apple II are evolutionary. Since Woz participated in the design of
the GS, I'd say his "hacker spirit" lives on and kicks ass in the GS. I'll
also point out that when asked which Apple II was his favorite (a common
question he has to answer at events/appearances) he replies "the Apple
//c"... which obviously is a (mostly) closed system, and seemingly contrary
to the open hardware, lids off the case, hacker-friendly slots we all love.
It would seem Woz appreciated the elegance of a well engineered machine that
did what it was designed to do, over the mere hack factor.
