Re: old question: getting files to the ][

Initially you can use ADT instructions to tranfer Dos 3.3 to make a 5.25" disk. Then you can transfer ADT, followed by a ProDOS disk with comm software. After that you can tranfer disk images top your 3.5" drive or to your ram drive (assuming enough memory.) ADT reqires a null modem cable that you can make or use a regular modem cable with a null modem adapter. It hooks serially to anothe PC with a serial adapter. Of course if you have an older Mac, you can appletalk with Appletalk server 2 or 3 you can have your IIgs boot off the Mac.

Do an internet search on CSA2 FAQ or look for the thread by Rubywand, he posted the FAQs here recently.

Hope this helps,
Ed

My question is: how can I write to a floppy (or initialize, copy
files, or whatever)? If I understand correctly, this functionality is
added to BASIC via a portion of the OS which loaded from disk, which I
don't have. Though given the built-in BASIC and ML monitor anything is
possible... or would it be too much hassle, and I should try to get a
proper boot disk first?
