If anyone would like to port this game...

"Golgatha II: Demon World"
By: Paul Panks (dunric@yahoo.com)
Abstract:
Play an adventure/maze RPG game similar to Box Mania II on the classic
Commodore 64 computer. Complete with redefined sprites, an in-game
level editor and complex gameplay.
Pressing "p" will pause gameplay. During a pause, the gameplayer can
also speed up or slow down the action in the game by pressing the "+"
and "-" keys, respectively.
The in-game level editor allows editing of existing levels, or
creation of entirely new levels. Levels can be as large as 20 x 20 in
size. Since each character sprite is approximately 8 x 8 in size, this
is equivalent to a 160 x 160 screen size dungeon.
Use the "S" coins to "Supercharge" (think: Pac-man). Once a coin is
picked up, VAP can run into an Evil (either green, orange or red) and
turn him blue (freeze him momentarily). Keep in mind, however, that in
Golgatha II (as in pac-man) the evil will eventually "unfreeze" and we
able to go after VAP again. This differs from Golgatha: The
X-Chronicles, whereby freezing an Evil was permanent for that level.
"Atom Splitters" look like little stars, or an asterisk symbol.
Touching them will cause VAP to lose at least one man, and possibly
two. Such is the same if VAP walks over an "X" symbol, which is
sometimes necessary (on some levels). Picking up the round, blue
spheres will give a man back to VAP.
"Yellow Slime", or healing pools, are sometimes available on a dungeon
level. This increases VAPs strength to maximum, so long as he is
standing over it. Conversely, the "Red Pools" are like lava, and cause
VAP to lose hearts, and a man, if all hearts are exhausted for that
man.
"Green Slime" will also cause VAP to lose hearts. The "Oozer" monster
can walk over the slime and move it around, forcing VAP to be very
careful where he moves. VAP can also pick up the "Anti-Slime"
containers, and remove slime from the dungeon floor.
Teleports (the purple "staircases") are a bit unwieldy, as they
sometimes will move VAP into an area around the teleport (which may
occasionally turn out to be a wall, in some instances). Just walk past
it by moving into the next available dungeon floor space.
In 'Golgatha II', there are two tilesets the player can select from at
game start. There is the new tileset, created especially for the
sequel, with slightly upgraded level sprites, and the older sprite
tileset (as in the original game).
I wrote the "Golgatha" series during a break between updates of
"Westfront PC: The Trials of Guilder". I wanted to create a graphical
game that was fun to play, could be ported to multiple platforms (such
as Linux, Macintosh, Commodore 64/128, Atari 400/800, IBM PC/PC Jr.,
Apple II/IIe, Spectrum, etc.) and had interesting enough gameplay to
make it a worthwhile maze/adventure game. I think I've succeeded in
this matter, but that's ultimately up to the player to determine. =)
Sincerely,
Paul Allen Panks
