The GS/OS desktop isn't like the Mac desktop. It's not a separate
folder. What happens is that the file stays in the same directory
location but it's window layout position is changed in one of the finder
dropping files.
To de-activate and init/da/cdev/etc..., do a get info on the file and
there should be an Inactive button. Check it and it shouldn't load the
next time you boot.
