Most plastics fall into two categories: Thermo-Setting and
Thermo-Forming. Thermo-Setting plastics are hardened (cured) by the
use of heat, like polyester resins. Thermo-Forming plastics are
"formed" by heating the plastic and blowing them into a mold. Plastic
bottles are made this way. ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene) and
PVC (PolyVinyl Chloride) plastic pipe are of this variety too.
As far as I can tell, the Apple case is a Thermo-Forming Plastic, but
what type I cannot tell. Cyano-Acrylic (Super Glue) works well on ABS.
You can also try the solvents for ABS and PVC and see if that works.
