Hi,
I seem to recall that some screens can't be handled by the Echo.  Obviously
any graffics screens are out of the question.  It works fine with the
standard screens E.G. just your normal Applesoft.  Don't know how to change
screen modes or I would test it.
Actually the Textalker software and not the Echo card itself is responsible
for capturing the text off the screen and turning it into phonemic sounds
which are then sent to the Echo card.  I just read last night that aparently
the Echo uses a modified version of the chip used in the Texas Instruments
Speak 'n Spell toy.
