Hi folx,
I know I'm missing something obvious here, but buggered if I can figure
out what it is. Here's my setup
Enhanced //e, SSC in Slot 2, cable to a Keyspan serial adaptor in my
PowerBook with OS X 10.3.
If I just CTRL-RESET, then IN#2 and PR#2, I get two way communication -
I see the results of my typing on both keyboards on the //e screen and
in the ZTerm window.
If I run ZLink in ProDOS 2.0.3 on the //e, with VT100, local echo,
auto-linefeed, 8N1 19200, all I see on both screens is what the //e
types, nothing the PowerBook types.
I've checked the switches and jumper block on the SSC, and they're
definitely set for Terminal mode with 19200, 8N1 in Communications Mode.
I've also successfully used this SSC for transferring disk images via
ADT to another serial adaptor running in Classic.
And, to top it off, I had the same problem using my LC575 with an old
ClarisWorks in place of the PowerBook/ZTerm duo. So it's not just the
weird serial adaptor thing (which I don't suspect because of the "raw"
mode working above - I can even work at the Applesoft prompt in the
Zterm window on the PowerBook to enter programs and run them).
Ultimately, I want to do a terminal into the OS X command line from the
//e, but I think this is stopping me as I see no prompts or anything
from the PowerBook, and I can't troubleshoot that until I know I can
definitely get data flowing from the PowerBook to the //e.
I'm sure it's something in ZLink I'm missing - any pointers on what
settings I should be looking at?
All helpful suggestions very welcome :)
Sean
