I have an Apple Slinky Memory card, about to update it from 256K to 1MB.
Is there any way to test the memory?
I have an AE RamFactor that appears to be bad. When it's installed in
the IIe I'm using for testing, it won't boot. I've tried the card in
both slots 5 & 7, the IIe just locks up at startup. I can press
control-reset, and get to an AppleSoft prompt. Typing PR#6 results in
the IIe locking up as does going into the monitor and typing C600G.
(This is with a working 5.25 controller in slot 6 and working 5.25 dive.)
However, if I remove the IIe Workstation card and Super Serial card
(which I should have done in the first place) at startup it drops into
the monitor at C624. There does seem to be executable code at C500
(with the RamFactor in slot 5).
Any ideas as to what I can do to check this card? I have loosened up
all of the chips (except for the numerous RAM chips) and reseated them,
putting one chip back in correctly. (It was in backwards and had three
bent pins.)
Thanks for any info...
