You may not need to crack the case. On my 128 EX there's a "Drive Speed
Adjust" pot exposed. Flip the computer over, and look for the "hole" on the
bottom of the case closest to the drive activity light. It's about 1cm away
from a little plastic foot. On my Laser there's still a sticker which reads
"Drive Speed Adjust" next to this hole and I remember having to jam a
screwdriver in here and adjust the drive to make disks work.
