Most of those IIe can be replace by WDC 65c02s processors just fine. Look
forward to picking them up but the WDC parts rarely fail. The NES ones are
just fine. #1 problem the NES had was the "cartridge apparatus" thing. I
replaced the apparatus once and voila the NES was alive just fine. The 65c02
chips are very long living chips and are among the most reliable in the
world.
