My understanding is that in the heyday of copied cards, this
booklet was the substitute for "directions" on building your own
card from a blank PC board.

I recall from a late 80s trip to Hong Kong that these copied cards
were _everywhere_ in the Golden Market. And the smell of hot
flux confirmed that they were being turned out in the back rooms
as people were buying them in front! In one case, I saw a boy
about 9 or 10 years old building such a card.

In most cases I saw, the silk screening on the board was a
good enough guide to allow the purchaser to construct
the card, so maybe the booklet was just a guide for card
builders who were not so familiar with electronic components
or who had a poorly marked PC board.
