Marinetti v2.0.1 definitely does not support server assigned DNS
addresses. I'm not sure why DNS stopped working for you. I do recall
it not working for me from time to time but usually it worked fine.
There were reports from some people who couldn't get it to work at all
but I can't remember if anyone figured out why. It is possible that
v3.0 will solve this problem for you, though.

As to DNS servers, any DNS server IP address should work. Using the
one provided by your ISP is usually recommended because it is
physically closer to your machine and therefore there are less hops
that the information has to make to get from your IIgs to the DNS
server and back and therefore the faster the response you'll get. You
don't need to use the ones provided by your ISP but if you do use some
other server on the internet, it is possible you could run into
timeout problems when trying to access it. It is also possible that
the DNS server just happened to be real busy when you tried to access
it and there weren't any available sockets to receive your request.

I'm not sure. I haven't been keeping up on the messages on Syndicomm
recently so I haven't had a chance to track it down myself yet. I'm
interested in whether Andrew Rouhgan's MS-CHAP support has been added
so that I can try to share my PC's DSL connection with my IIgs via a
null-modem connection.
