Michael, the higher the SCSI ID the higher priority that device gets
on the SCSI bus so it makes sense that you want the controller card to
have the highest ID and therefore the highest priority.  I don't think
it really makes much of a real world difference on most Apple II
setups, though.

Dave, I think the ID you are thinking of is 2.  I believe that is the
one that causes the Apple SCSI card (I'm not sure if it is all SCSI
cards or just the high speed one) to delay for a while after power on.
