Bill, although this may be the case with some brands of component video
cables, I can assure you that I have high quality Red/Green/Blue component
video cables (looking at 'em right now). No pink on them. As a matter of
fact, it's a dark Red color for the red one (that I have in my possesion).

But ultimately, the signals are Red, Green, and Blue, no matter what shade
of color is being used on the connectors themselves. >>

  Actually, I meant the connections on the equipment itself, not the cables. 
Most early devices I have ever looked at had the pink color.  Yes, it is RGB
ultimately, of course.

  Just got to looking at my new Sony receiver and the component video jacks are
colored Red Green and Blue.  So maybe things are changing.
