Does that work as a disk image?  Einstein uses the program disk as a
scratchpad for the code and reads and writes directly to the program disk,
probably bypassing DOS in the process.  

I have a real Einstein disk here, v5.3a.  Not sure if it works; I remember
finding that it had a tendency to create strange run-time errors in the
compiled program.  Things that worked perfectly in native Applesoft
suddenly didn't work right after compilation.  So beware!
