As Roy mentions the Sound GLU (Sound General Logic) is soldered in and
the Ensoniq DOC is socketed and right beside the memory expansion slot.
You might try replacing the Ensoniq chip or it might be worthwhile
prying up all the socketed chips a little and reseating them so that
any oxidized contacts have good conection again.
