Most any GUI based OS will show it as a ramdisk.
Some auto-format them and others require you to
format it after initial booting. Being a long time
Atari buff in the 80's, I only recently joined in
the Apple II experience. After little more than a
year, I am already hacking and beginning to program,
and I hope to soon create adapters for the IIc which
will allow newer types of storage devices to be
attached and/or installed.

I've been looking for them as well, as one of mine
is not functioning properly and I'm not sure if the
logic is bad, or one or more srams. Seems that most
of the items I really want come up for sale/auction
near the end of the month when money becomes tight.
Anyway, now that you know what it is, let the fun
begin.
