First, as far as I know, 8-bit MCS will not work with a
Mockingboard in a IIgs. It works fine on a II+ with MB. Probably, it
works fine on a //e with MB.

I'm fairly sure MCS expects the MB to be in Slot 4.

When you start 8-bit MCS and get past the intro screen, you
should get the composer screen with the Plug icon selected. This is
where you set stuff up.

Pressing SPACE goes through the current list of options.

The first list offers a choice between JOYSTICK or KEYBOARD.
Pressing RETURN selects the currently displayed option and you move on
to the next list.

The next list should include MOCKINGBOARD SII, which is probably
what you want. The SOUND II, "A", and "C" models have two 3-voice
programmable sound generators (one per 'stereo' channel) which is what
you will need to play most of the on-disk songs. Press RETURN to
select your choice.

The last list lets you enter printer init codes. Unless you want
to enter codes for your printer, press RETURN.

You can get a catalog of songs on a disk by selecting the Disk
icon and entering CATALOG D1 (for a disk in Drive 1) or CATALOG D2
(for a disk in Drive 2). To load in a song, say, CANON, you type in
LOAD CANON.
