Come to think of that. I do need switch 4 set to ON to run it
with my 80 column card in place. Sorry that I didn't remember
that part.

I do this with every single card I get, and also be sure that the
pins are straight and clean. You can use a small piece of very fine
emery paper rubbed lightly over them to clean the pins.
