Your method of replacing the LFs should also be viable, unless the ProTerm
editor gets confused by the lack of CRs and overwrites the display. I'm a
little rusty on that, to be honest.

Note, however, that you would be limited to documents that would fit in the
editor (< 46K), whereas emulating the file into the scrollback buffer
provides a file size constraint limited only by the RAM in the IIe.
