Good to know that the log in is case sensitive.  I'll have to remember

No, I doubt you are doing anything wrong.  Lynx uses the text screen
to display HTML pages and there are very few sites today that design
their pages to be viewed decently on anything less than an 800x600
graphical browser with Java and all sorts of other plug in support.
Lynx does its best to display the page in a readable form but it isn't
easy.  Things get even worse if the page you are viewing uses frames
because Lynx can only display one frame at a time and you have to
manually switch between them if you want to view the other frames.

I don't know of any lists of telnet sites but you can always do a web
search for them.  There used to be several Apple II related BBS' that
you could telnet to but I don't know if they are still operating or
not.  I believe there are even some places where you can get free
shell accounts that you can telnet into if you want to play around
with unix type stuff.  The only site that I telnet to on a regular
basis at present is syndicomm.com.
