I spoke up at KFest on this and it was suggested that the GIFs that I was
having trouble with had too many colors. Well, maybe that not it either.
I decided to give it another try and I've had very limited, but gratifying
success. I've been SOMETIMES successful when I use Internet Explorer through my
AOL connection to collect GIFs, then transfer them to a ProDOS formatted
Compact Flash (my CFFA card's CF module), using a CF PC Card Adapter. Next the
CF module is reinstalled on the CFFA card, computer turned on and FORK.SPLIT
run to deal with the forked resource file. That's the easy part. Next, ][GIF
is run to decode the GIFS as HR or DHR files. There's the pinch! Some files
aren't even listed on the directory as files to choose, while other can be
choose, but the program's dialog tells me that they aren't GIFs. I've been
getting the GIFs from comic and cartoon websites so I'd expect that they'd
either all work or none of them would work in ][GIF.
What gives? What step am I missing?
