I use Agate too, because it's got Zmodem.  I'm sure it must have upload
capability, but I can only recall using it to download from a PC to an Apple
II. I may have uploaded too, but mainly I was using it as a method of
getting downloads off the net from my PC to an Apple II.

There is a help screen that lists keyboard commands, did you check that?
Also, its Zmodem differs from others in that you have to initiate the
download by keyboard, most Zmodem comm progs automatically start downloading
when the other side starts sending.
