i then loaded z-link over to the ][c... and Agate. Z-link had this bad habit of crashing. i'd start it up and the screen would go blank. nothing would bring it back... on the few occasions that i did get it working, i couldn't read the data on any disk other than the z-link disk. when i went to choose a file, it would spin both the internal and external drives. since i had z-link in the internal drive, it would show up fine. the external drive would come up as "ram" and nothing under it. i switched the z-link disk to the external and it read it fine, but hten the internal disk was labeled 'ram'...
so then i tried Agate. is there a way to send files with Agate? the only choices i saw were to receive files. if it can only receive, then it isn't much use to me (too bad, because it seemed to work very well...)
i tried modem-mgr, but i couldn't find a dsk image. all the downloads had it as a .sdk file. checking the net, i found a program to unzip that filetype (NuLib2 i think...). but when i tried to unzip it, it couldn't do it.
any ideas??? Dean Ed Eastman wrote:

Use the mode command to set up the port and send the ascii file over the serial port with the type command as outlined in the CSA2 FAQ at 300b.I wrote this procedure and have sucessfully done this on a II+, unenhanced IIe, enhanced IIe, IIc, IIc+ and IIgs. The slotted IIs including the IIgs were done using a super serial card. (Originally ADT did not support other serial devices.)Thankx, Ed
