No way. The IIe card is a special IIe on a card that plugs into a mac
with the LC slot. It also has a special cable to connect the disk drive
and a mouse. It is basically a IIe emulator on a card. The concept
that is being suggested to you is that if you had this, you could
simply read the files from the 5.25 floppies to the Mac hard drive
and manipulate them there. That setup is probably going to cost you
more in time and money than the SSC and cable to transfer them via
null-modem to the PC. If the files are .TXT format, the PC can convert
them easily. I simply load them into WordPad and resave them as
Unicode text and they can be viewed on the PC or the Apple II.
Now back to your problem. I think your best bet, although there
might be some personal data on them, would be to send them out and
have someone snag the files off, write them to MS-DOS disk and
send them back. I would be more than happy to work out a deal
with you for the job, or you could take the SSC and cable for $10
less than my original offer. I'm trying to help you out here.
